Marcos has been working for more than 20 years in tax practice, with focus on tax controversy and litigation and on general tax consulting. He also has significant experience in VAT/indirect tax matters, in State and local tax, customs duties, as well as in transfer pricing.
Marcos was an assistant for the 4th Chamber of Ethics and Discipline of the Brazilian Bar Association´s Sao Paulo chapter for years 2008 to 2012.
He is author of the articles “Brazilian Taxation of Capital Gains Earned by Non-Residents on Sale of Assets Located in Brazil” and “Taxation in the Internet” and he has authored numerous articles for various publications, including the International Tax Review.
Marcos was an assistant professor in Tax Law both at the graduation and post-graduation courses of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP).
Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B.) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) – 1997. Postgraduate Degree in Tax Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) – 2000. Member of the Brazilian Bar Association, of the Tax Researches Institute (IPT), of the Administrative Tax Litigation Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association and of the Tax Law Committee of CESA.
International Tax Review has acknowledged Marcos as a leading lawyer in tax controversy and indirect taxes.
The Legal 500 also recommends Marcos in Tax (The Legal 500 Latin America 2017).
